Revitalizing Communities

Since 1981, Carroll Properties, its principles and its affiliates have worked hard to build developments that offer value to our residents while adding to the revitalization of their host communities throughout metropolitan Chicago.  We have developed a variety of residential properties, that include condominium residences, town-homes, courtyard buildings and mid-rise apartment buildings.  We have built both conventional and affordable house developments.  We have worked successfully with city and suburban governments to build housing that meets the standards and the aspirations of the neighborhoods in which we build.  We have had success in the restoration of historic properties by ensuring that our historic rehabilitations yield the modern amenities expected in today’s upscale residences, while maintaining a link with past architectural achievement. Using a variety of creative public and private funding sources, we have been able to maximize financial resources for all of our developments – large or small.

Carroll’s more notable developments include the rehabilitation and condo conversion of the John McGill Mansion—a National Historic Landmark property near the University of Chicago; Carroll Tower – a mid-rise development in St. Charles, IL;  the Boulevard Commons  redevelopment of several hundred affordable housing units in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood; and E2 Apartments, which entailed the construction of some  342 residential units with 20,000 s.f. of commercial space on the largest undeveloped parcels in downtown Evanston, IL.

We specialize in transforming underused and often ignored buildings into revitalized developments that serve the housing needs of growing, diverse communities.  We take pride in our real estate projects, which we believe will endure for generations to come.
