In 1979, Robert King through McGill Parc Associates, purchased the McGill Mansion, saved it from a Court ordered demolition, and converted the buildings into rental residences. The Partnership had the property listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 2000, the residences were again substantially renovated for condominium ownership.
Carroll Properties designed on the grounds of the McGill Mansion a 10-unit luxury townhome development. These residences were constructed to match the elegance of the original Mansion, while the luxury and the convenience of a modern urban development. A diverse population of home buyers – from “move-up” to luxury buyers – were our target buyers the McGill Parc Townhomes development. Now enjoying a modern renaissance, more than 200 new single family homes, condominiums and townhomes have joined our townhomes on historic Drexel Boulevard and in the surrounding neighborhood.
The design of our townhomes captured the understated elegance of the McGill Mansion. Our new 3 to 4 bedroom residences featured 9’ ceilings, carpeting and hardwood floors. Kitchen featured stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and 42”oak cabinets. All bathrooms have whirlpool tubs with premium ceramic tiled walls and floors. Premium upgrades included custom cabinetry, exotic hardwood floors, wood work, powder rooms and gas fireplaces. Our Townhome sites were extensively landscaped.
